二 | 拳头游戏于8月20日正式宣布，旗下英雄联盟IP衍生格斗游戏《2XKO》将于2026年底停止开发，终止后续内容更新。官方坦言，游戏自今年1月全平台上线的玩家留存表现不佳，用户规模不足以支撑长期持续的开发运营。根据官方公告，今年剩余时间内开发团队仍会推进内容更新与功能优化，包括推出拉克丝、莎弥拉两名新英雄，最终Bug修复补丁将于12月上线。停止开发后，游戏在线服务器将继续保留运营，全平台玩家仍可正常进行联机对战，离线游玩模式完全不受影响。
针对已付费玩家，拳头同步公布了全额退款方案：8月20日及之前所有在游戏内产生的消费均可全额退款；即日起游戏内全部角色免费解锁，大部分外观道具将进行整合，玩家已拥有的内容可永久保留。9月上线的1.3.1版本中，头像、个人资料等道具将支持通过游戏内积分解锁。从2026年1月全平台上线到宣布停止开发，这款游戏的运营时间尚不足一年。《2XKO》由此成为Riot史上最短命的自研游戏。

《2XKO》的停更，让不少玩家再次把目光投向了拳头手中另一个命运未卜的项目——《英雄联盟》MMO。这款基于《英雄联盟》世界观开发的MMORPG，自2020年12月被首次证实以来，至今仍未揭开真实面貌。2024年初，拳头宣布对MMO项目进行“重置”，推翻了此前已开发的内容。
四 | 联合创始人Marc Merrill当时表示，之所以推倒重来，是因为此前的方向“与现有产品差异化不足”，如果无法创造真正独特的体验，项目就没有存在的意义。
五 | 重置之后，项目进入了长达数年的静默期。近一年多来，拳头持续从《魔兽世界》团队引入核心人才：2026年1月，前《魔兽世界》首席制作人雷蒙德·巴尔托斯加入；2026年6月，前《魔兽世界》首席战斗设计师布莱恩·霍林卡也确认加盟。开发团队正全力推进，目标是在2030年前实现上线。
然而考虑到2024年才重置方向、目前仍处于研发阶段，且拳头官方此前已确认该项目“还需要数年时间”才能完成，2030年这个目标能否兑现仍有相当大的不确定性。联合创始人Merrill在2025年初曾调侃过一句发售窗口：“希望在我们去火星之前”。
格斗游戏折戟之后，MMO的成败对拳头来说只会更加关键。但这款LOL世界观下的MMO能否在2030年前端出来，恐怕连拳头自己心里都没底。
